Product details
Christain Astuguevieille has reworked a decorative motif printed using the woodblock technique at the Oberkampf manufactory in Jouy-en-Josas, circa 1792. It is called “Coquecigrues” because of the imaginary animals depicted on the fabric. This motif was fashionable in the eighteenth century. Very much inspired by Surrealism and unusual motifs, the artist has modified the design scale and colors to produce a more modern version that is appropriate for interior decoration. The original document is conserved at the Toile de Jouy Museum in Jouy-en-Josas.
