Product details
As the name suggests, Little Greene's tenth collection, 'Archive Trails', is a joyous collection of floral wallpaper. Over the past ten years, Little Greene has built a tradition of selecting authentic wallpaper designs from the archive. The colors and patterns of these old wallpaper designs were adapted in such a way that they fit seamlessly into the interior of the 21st century. The collection has been designed on the basis of a number of highly respected sources such as English Heritage, the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester and historical pieces from France. This harmonious wallpaper collection includes seven designs from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The popular flower and bird motifs are reflected in all designs. Each wallpaper has multiple color schemes.
Paradise (c1940) celebrates a really rich mix of styles. The English Heritage property document from which this article is drawn is actually a 20th century piece, but the subject matter - exotic flora and the well-known oriental ho-ho birds - is classically old Chinoiserie, while the color in the original is very much in the same way style of a 19th century French paper. This design retains oversized repetition of the original and has been reproduced in six beautiful colors.
