Product details
This mid-18th century wallpaper was found in Cranford, Middlesex, and features a yellow s-shaped floral design printed on thick, handmade rag paper. It is special, because yellow was indeed a popular color, but also expensive and faded quickly. The paper appeared more expensive than it actually was, by applying a shadow effect. This effect was obtained inexpensively by using the same block to print two different colors.
