Little Greene produces elegant and sustainable high-quality wallpaper.
This large damask pattern was found in Marlborough House, next to St James's Park; a grand retreat, designed by Christopher Wren, and home to the Duchess of Marlborough. She was a friend and confidant of Queen Anne. It is believed that the wallpaper, originally a dark blue flocked design on a light blue background, is relatively recent. Although the origin of the general wallpaper design is Victorian, the design as silk fabric is even older. The twist in this interpretation is the light-to-dark ombré effect, where the wall has a striking color at the bottom and is lighter towards the top. This makes a room feel larger and lighter than with a conventional damask design.
