Product details
Reflecting a variation on a striped theme, this wallpaper dates from around 1820. The original fragment was discovered in a 16th century house; Lauderdale House on Highgate Hill overlooking Hampstead Heath. The design is the result of stenciling instead of block printing: first a sturdy green paper was stretched on a burlap canvas, which was stretched over the wall and stenciled on the spot.
