This design owes its existence to an antique eighteenth-century nankeen, hand-painted on silk, which was donated to the Canovas House in the 1990s by a great American collector, Mrs. Williams. Between large peonies and mangosteens, sit beautiful parrots, their brilliant plumage on display against a colorful background.
